Christmas craziness
Christmas, a time to be around family and loved ones, spending quality time ie: quiet peacefull dinner and so on. You're supposed to feel all warm and fuzzy, right?
Not me though.
This is by far my maddest Christmas ever! With about 4 hours sleep per day and having eye bags the size of the moon, it sure doesn't feel like Christmas to me...
First, christmas shopping, which in other words only means making everyone else happy and leaving you poor as Bill Gates (you know what I mean). This took up almost all my weekends cos I have a full time job and I don't have very attractive hours. So yea, gotta rush all over the place just to find that little something that means something to that somebody, and I have a lot of 'somebodies' to buy for.
Secondly, Special Christmas dinner. My church held a huge wedding-like dinner bangquet in a club (non feng tau kinda club, this is more like a club with gym and pools?) and I was part of the organizing committee and there is just so much to plan, almost like planning a wedding, only, I had only 3 months to plan this? So booklets needed to be designed and printed and distributed and yada yada yada.
Thirdly, I had a performance to rehearse for. And the performance is for CHRISTMAS EVE and CHRISTMAS DAY!!! OUT OF TOWN!!! say what??!! Yup, I unknowingly committed myself to this performance and had to go on with it. This is sorta like a favor for a friend. He runs this hotel and needed a band for that specific 2 nights. So obviously rehearsals are necessary, every week. Some days we have it during the weekends, but some days, I have to zoom to the jammest place in Selangor without no dinner right after work and rehearse till midnight.
Fourth-ly?, I had a lot of meetups with friends who came back from overseas for the holidays and my lil bro is also back so I had a lot of family time jammed into my December too. Dinners, breakfasts, drinks, sleep overs, parties and so on. Sometimes I just don't know when to stop. But this is the best part for me. Spending time with family and friends.
Lastly, of course, my performance. Had to run to the mall right before shooting off up north for my performance cos I know I wouldn't have enough time to get any more Christmas gifts after this cos I will only be back in town after Christmas. :(
So there I was driving like a mad cow, parked like a mad rally driver and walked around, actually run around the mall like a bow legged duck trying to get the final 2 gifts. Fyi, I was in the mall by 11am and I was supposed to head up north by 1130? Shoot me pls. Relin is picking me up, thank God for good friends. She was kind enough to teman me for my performance cos she knows how crap it is for me to be celebrating Christmas alone, far far away... So anyways, I digressed. Picked up the 2 gifts and left for home and there she was already there. We had lunch on the way in our good ol' brunch place and headed up north. Bye bye KL. See you after Christmas. Boohoohoo...
Will save my performance post for my next entry.
Hope all of you had a fab Christmas! :D
