Bridal Shower
I know I'm sorta going backwards here, you know, usually the bridal shower/hens night comes before the wedding right? But I totally forgot that I haven't blogged about the bridal shower so here goes!
I had so much fun planning cos I generally like planning stuff and it's a girly night out, so ya... Though, I was also super stressed out just planning a bridal shower cos as some of those close to me will know, I have a mild case of 'OCD' and I tend to take some stuff too seriously and get all anxious over nothing and have weird obsession/compulsion. I look into every detail, wanting things to be perfect and well planned sometimes to the extend of me forgetting my lunch! But I do take breathers here and there and ask myself to chill la.
It was my first time planning a bridal shower so here's what I THINK I need: (May be helpful for those who are gonna plan one in the future. :P )
1) Fix a date, set location, set time, dress code etc
2) Set guest list
3) Send out invitation
4) Follow up and get final head count
5) Decor
6) Plan activities for the night
7) Veil (Optional)
8) Get gift
9) There may be some stuff that I have left out, but I dah lupa...
So ya, did all the above and ran around looking for props and decor materials and viola! Welcome to WY's bridal shower! :) (Please pardon the bad quality shots, it was a new camera and these were the first shots ever)
We ended the night with some desserts and as we were leaving, one of the staff actually came up to me and asked if this was a hens night and I said 'ya, why?' And he looked shocked and his response was: "Wow, this is the most mild and decent hens' night I've ever seen!"
HAHAHAHA, sorry mister, no sexy gals with penis cakes tonight, we just wanna have an intimate night with the bride-to-be thank you very much.
Alrighty, time to hit the sack. Have a good weekend! :)

The Table Setting
The VEIL! Quiet the drama getting this veil done. To make this veil, I would need the 'crown', fabric, fabric glue and whatnot. So, one fine day, I decided to go hunt for the fabric and stuff and of all days, ALL the fabric stores were closed! I went to at least 7 different stores and I kid you not, ALL were closed. Why??? It was a blazing hot day and I was getting a lil frustrated and losing hope and thank God, as I was heading back home, I happen to pass by ONE that was open... Got what I needed and made this:
Theme was white and pink, hence the white and pink ribbon tied to the wine glass
Pink roses and white petals all across the table
Girls about to toast to the bride-to-be
Blurry shot of the toast!
The Maid of Honor putting on the veil for the bride-to-be
Pre-wedding joy
Girls giving their speeches and marriage advise. The rose is supposed to be our 'mic'...
A lil surprise for WY. I got her fiance to record a short clip for her specially for the shower. The bride-to-be listening intently. :)
So after we had our speeches and games (which were censored off this post or I will be in trouble), we had, of course, snap snap session. ^.^
It was a mixture of WY's church friends, high school friends, uni friends as well as family.
It's funny how before the bride arrived, we recognised each other by what we wore. I was there first along with Pei Ern and we really didn't who was who, we only had names and not faces. So as each girl walked in, clad in white, we would ask if they were here for the shower!
This was when she opened the gift we got her. Just look at her very WIDE smile! No surprise to what's inside that box ey? ;)
Of course I can't show it here too, lest some parents will come knocking at my door early tmr morning!
